Bisu comes from
Kolkata, India and he started practicing yoga at the age of 14. Bisu
holds a Master degree (M.SC) specializing in Yoga Science and
Therapy from Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana (SVYASA),
Bangalore, a world renowned yoga university in India and has
received training in yoga therapy from Sivananda Yoga
Mahavidyapitham of Assam (Guwahati). Bisu also taught yoga in
Rishikesh (the world capital of yoga) to people from various
nationalities from all around the world.
Bisu has many years of teaching experiences.
Prior to coming to Singapore, he was a yoga teacher and therapist in
SVYASA and also in various medical institutes. His main focus was on
therapy and stress management, helping patients to cope with their
illness and diseases. He also worked in Andaman and Nicobar Islands
to counsel the Tsunami effected people through the yogic stress
management method with coordination of the Andaman and Nicobar
Administration immediately after the Asian tsunami. The main
responsibility was to reduce the psychological distress of the
effected people.
Bisu has worked in many places as yoga therapist and advisor. He has
also spent a few months in South Korea for academic purpose
regarding PHD research in Yogaand also taught part time yoga at
various programs.
Bisu specializes in therapy, basic and intermediate asana teaching
and meditation classes. He believes a holistic approach of yoga
teaching which includes pranayama and meditation along with yoga
postures. Currently, Bisu is teaching gentle, therapy, hatha basic,
holistic, traditional Indian yoga and Chikitsa yoga at the centre.
Bisu wants to spread the therapeutic benefits of yoga and other form
of alternative natural health care traditional systems to all
sections of society around the world. He firmly establishes the fact
that Yoga is not only a physical exercise but a way of life
coordinated with natural laws which enhances the mind body
coordination of the body. He hopes to encourage youths to practice
the art of yoga along with understanding the philosophical values of
this ancient Indian science so that the mental and physical value of
Yoga transcends to the generations to come.
