Brief description of workshop: Science of breathing - Breathing is fundamental to human existence. Through breathing we enrich our body with vital energy (oxygen) and throw out waste gases (carbon dioxide). Efficient functioning of all the cells, tissues, organs and nerves is directly proportional to oxygen intake of the lungs and oxygen uptake at the cellular level. Yogic breathing can really help in increasing the lung capacity and at the same time stimulating the cells to utilize oxygen more effectively. In process of yogic breathing, one uses diaphragm, intercostals muscles in the chest. The diaphragmatic breathing is called vertical breathing and is considered a more efficient way to inhale air than inhaling while expanding the chest which is called horizontal breathing
Guidelines for Injury Prevention - This class will elaborate on ways to ensure that your practice is free from injuries. It will lay down general and specific instructions for injury prevention and rehabilitation. It covers topics like Weight distribution, Muscle imbalance, forward flexion poses, Weight bearing poses and Inversions. |
