Victor has been practicing and teaching yin yoga since 2004 when he met
his teacher Paul Grilley. He drew his influence from various styles of
yoga from classical to modern yoga systems. His style is goal oriented
and precise. He believes that yoga should have both elements of Yin &
Yang to bring the body, energy and mind to balance. Only by experiencing
the two extremes will one be able to come back to the “centre”.
Therefore, Victor emphasizes on being aware of the changes that take
place in the practice and being in the moment. Victor is well-known in
Asia for his dedication and passion in yin yoga. |

Yin Yoga Gain more
flexiibility out of your yoga practice Yin
Yoga is a quiet practice that enables one to achieve flexibility, energy
re-balancing and meditation. Yin postures require one to stay in the
postures for longer amount of time in a relax way. The postures are
chosen to work on either a particular joint or meridian path. By
choosing a particular joint, it works into deep connective tissues that
enable greater space at the joints. This eventually leads to greater
flexibility of the joint. If a meridian pathway is chosen, then the
poses will be able to enhance healthy meridian path for chi to flow
freely. You will also experience a short breathing practice which
cultivates energy balance, yoga nidra and meditation for deep
relaxation, at the end of the practice.
Workshop 1 : Hips, Sacrum
& Lower Back In
this workshop, you will be practicing a series of Yin postures which
targets the lower body. It targets sacrum, hips and lower back. This
series helps one to open up the hips and to be able to sit comfortably
for the practice of any seated posture, especially for meditative
practices. Students will feel more flexibility to help them to move
deeper into yoga poses after this practice.
Workshop 2 : The Path of
Integration - Yin to Yang Yoga This
practice beings with yin yoga postures, and transit into a dynamic yang
vinyasa (flow) practice in the second half. Yin postures enable the
major joints to be more subtle and this prepares the body for more
dynamic yang practice. This practice liberates body restrictions and
allows more energy to flow through the body. This class enable one to
understand how yin postures can be logically connected with a yang
practice. Therefore, you are likely to discover new awakening of the
body when both yin and yang yoga are done in a single session.
